The Archive

A Gallery of Creative Experimentation

The Archive offers a window into my creative world: poetry, sound, and art that maps the evolution of my practice and the varied landscapes I’ve traveled through. You’re welcome to explore and engage with what resonates.

My art is relational. Born in communion with the Earth, my body, and the mysteries that surround us, my work unfolds at the intersections of art, spirit, and ecology. I explore thresholds while courting paradox, creating from the ripe dynamism of tension, trust, and transformation:

Emergence // Disappearance

Permanence // Ephemera

Growth // Decay

Gravity // Levity

Wonder // Terror

Desire // Dread

I draw my inspiration from the surrealism of dreams, the natural rhythms of Earth, absurd observations in the day-to-day, and surprise revelations that emerge during contemplative practice.

My creative process begins with those first experiences of enchantment, then moves through a cycle of listening, expression, refinement, and release. I follow what feels alive, allowing form to emerge through playful improvisation until the essence of what calls to me is illuminated.

In this way, I approach art making as a co-creation with the Divine—the vast and mysterious force animating all things. By cultivating this intimacy with the numinous and ineffable I become its steward, allowing it to be witnessed, felt, and shared.

Ultimately, my work is an invitation into deeper sensual presence. It asks us to inhabit an embodied consciousness where we remember the love, wonder, and dignity that flows through all existence. Whether through a poem, a melody, or a stitch of embroidery, I seek to illuminate the threads of our interconnectedness, revealing how we belong to ourselves, to each other, and to the breathing world.

Music

I’ve been performing on stage since 2010, with my professional career beginning in 2016 when I joined the Open Music ensemble as a vocalist, harmoniumist, actor, and composer.

I’m a founding member of groups Not Your Ordinary None (NYON), Hubba Hubba Ha Ha, and Garduo. I have performed as a backing vocalist for KAZIMI and Crater + the Catalyst and share my solo works under the moniker Nico Gargoyl.

Over the years my repertoire has spanned a wide variety of genres and techniques, incorporating improvisation, composition, theatre, spoken word, dance, and more.
